Ruby on Rails is a mature web development framework. It’s been around for 12 years now, which is a long time in the digital world. Here at Intesys, our Rails team was formed six years ago out of a need to respond quickly to complex demands from our customers. We were also trying to streamline our development process, moving away from outdated technologies that no longer were adequate to satisfy the needs of today’s market.
Since then we have developed everything, from simple websites to mobile back-ends, complex custom applications and large, multi-national, web sites with significant traffic volumes. Take a look at our portfolio for some examples. It has been an interesting journey and we have learned a lot.
During this time we have noticed that Ruby on Rails, in Italy, has been noticed and adopted by many other software houses as well. Its status has gone from something of a niche novelty to a serious contender to consider for all types of web development. It still might not be as widespread as in the United States or United Kingdom but it certainly is growing in popularity each year, here in Italy as well as in the world at large.
